Rationale:
Bay Academy is an intervention designed for students in need of the most stringent intervention we offer. Our focus is on juniors and seniors who are three to eight credits deficient and significantly off-track of an on-time graduation. Students are invited to attend and must sign a Student Enrollment Agreement, outlining expectations and grounds for dismissal from the program.
Schedule:
Students enrolled in Academy will start their day fourth period, after lunch. Periods four through six are designed for students to access core requirements and elective classes. Period seven is Plato credit recovery and time for students to check in with their advisors on progress towards completing their credit goals identified on each student's personal plan. They also complete the advisory curriculum during seventh period. Periods eight and nine is credit recovery work in social studies (USH), English (Eng 11), and/or math (Algebra / Geometry).
Duration:
Students must stay in Academy no less than one semester. The goal is to have them stay as long as it takes to get back on track for on-time graduation. There will only be new admissions and transfers at the semester.
