Cheerleaders TRYOUT INFO: Our opening meeting for the 2008-9 season is Thursday, May 22nd at 2:15pm after school. Tryouts will be June 5-6 and June 9-10. Mandatory Camp is in July. Hudson's Bay cheerleaders are a vital part of the Eagle spirit at Bay. The Varsity squad is chosen in the spring prior to the next school year and is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors only. They commit to a season or a full year of cheering for football/volleyball (in fall), and boys' and girls' basketball/wrestling (in winter). A mandatory summer camp is held in different locations each year for all varsity squad members. Varsity cheerleaders help plan and carry out pep assemblies along with the help of ASB. Junior Varsity is open to sophomores and juniors only. Tryouts are held in the spring, same time as varsity tryouts. They also cheer at most of the J.V. sporting events and get ready for the year by having open gyms with the varsity during the summer. For incoming freshmen, tryouts this year will be held at the SAME TIME as Varsity and JV. Lastly, all squads are expected to attend competitions throughout the year and help in fundraising efforts by doing a scratch card, selling Entertainment books, working concessions, and helping to run Jr. Cheer Camps.
