MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Good Morning Hudsons Bay!

Today is Thursday, May 8, 2008

Don't forget Mothers Day is this Sunday.  Buy Mom a special gift at Bays annual plant sale.  The sale starts at 2:30 in Bays Greenhouse and we will stay open until 730 PM for late shoppers.  Invite mom to meet you here at Bay and have her pick out a hanging basket or some tomatoes for her patio or garden.  Prices range from 50 cents to 30 dollars for a huge basket so we can meet any budget.  We are open all day Today and Friday, too.  Check Bay’s website for more information. Thanks,  BAY FFA.

Attention all Junior Running Start students: Voting for class officers will be all day today in the attendance office.

Attention Seniors:

Graduation announcements will be handed out in the Commons on Today and Friday, May 9th, during both lunches. The representative from Royal-T will be here both days, so this is also a great time for those of you who did not yet order your cap and gown to talk to him and take care of that!

CAREER CENTER ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Congratulations to Lacey Fowler, a literacy teacher at Hudson's Bay.  Ms. Fowler has been chosen as the April employee of the month.  Several students nominated her. According to one of the students, Ivan Vukovic (VOO-ko-vick), Ms. Fowler "teaches in a captivating way that really makes students focus in and get absorbed into their studies."  Another student, Sean Davila, says Ms. Fowler "knows how to relate well to students. She has a great sense of humor and can be a friend to her students while still having their respect."

Ms. Fowler will receive a certificate of achievement for her portfolio.  Also, she will get some prizes from the Eagle Recognition Program.

ÿ JUNIORS:  If you plan to apply to a four-year college or university next year, you should take the SAT and / or the ACT this spring. Do NOT wait until grade twelve to take ACT and/or SAT for the first time!  There is only one more time to take these exams before summer vacation. Friday, May 9th, is the regular-fee deadline to register to take the last ACT of this school year.  If you want to take the last SAT of this school year, you have until May fifteenth to register. But, at this point, you will be charged a late registration fee for SAT. The Career Center has SAT and ACT registration materials and study guides.

Attention, seniors who will attend any campus of Washington State University in the fall!  You and your family are invited to an event called "Cougar Welcome." It will be on Tuesday, May 13th, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the WSU Vancouver campus. The Career Center has information about how you may register if you plan to attend.
