SPORTS:

Football players - important meeting Wednesday after school in the locker room.

Congratulations to both Alyssa Turner and Marc Jackson for qualifying and advancing to this week's Regional district track meet in Mount Tahoma on Friday and Saturday. Both hurdlers advanced in both the 100-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles. Alyssa finished 2nd in both races, while Marc was 1st in the 300-meter hurdles and 3rd in the 110-meter hurdles. Both must now finish in the top seven athletes at this week's meet in order to earn a berth to State. Good job and good luck to both.

The Boys soccer team beat Highline 2-1 Saturday to join the 15 other teams at the state tournament. The game was intense and the home team and fans were hostile, but the Eagles outplayed and outproduced the Pirates on their home turf up in Burien. The first goal came in the 6th minute off the head of Caleb Ecobedo from a cross by brother Isaiah, stunning the Pirates and their fans. The Pirates converted on a fine combination play to tie the game in the 25th minute. In the second half the Eagles fought hard for possession against the Pirates who had not lost since March 18. In the 65th minute Matthew Dally flew through the air pausing to get his head on a great through ball from Steven Hughes, nodding the game winner over the outstretched Pirate keeper. Bay locked the game down and held on even through a flurry of last second shots initially blocked by Matt Carmody, that also had nearly every Eagle defender block a shot on goal. Keeper, Carmody, had a splendid game with 5 high quality top drawer saves that kept the team in the match. The Eagles travel to Mercer Island to play the Islanders Tuesday evening at 7 PM.

Interested in bowling for the Hudson's Bay Girls' Bowling team next year?  It is not too late to join a league. Both Crosley and Hazel Dell lanes are forming teen leagues for the "summer" (May-August) sessions. Practice makes perfect!

Attention Bay Athletes, Coach Meyer will have the weight room open today from 2:30-3:30 and the Gym will be open from 3:30-4:30.

Congratulations to the Bay Basketball Players who maintained good grades during the 3rd quarter.  The following players; Gabe Foster, Tra Ponder, Dwan James-Brannon and Mehdi Berrissoul, earned above a 3.0 GPA and received a free dinner for their hard work.  Good job guys!
