When investing in anything one must make disaplined contributions over time. If you want to invest in your basketball career the same formula applies. This means that you must put work into getting better year round. Too often players want to take long period of time off and then think that they can cram months of trainnig into a short period of time. The probelm is that this is not an efficient way of training. The most effecient way of training is to put a reasonable amount time into basketball everyday over a long period of time. The other part of the equation is to work on the correct parts of your game. There are three main components to working on your basketball game; 1st is your skills(shooting, dribbling & passing), 2nd playing games, and 3rd is strength and conditioning. Often players only work on one aspect, such as just playing games or just shooting. This too does not leads to maximum gains as a basetball player. In addition to training for basketball individuals should strive to have balance in their lives. This means making time for faith, family and school work. Getting out of balance can drag off the court problems onto the court.
