The main purpose for this program is to give young students a chance to learn more about science and to give High School students the opportunity to be role models and become mentors. Other benefits include public speaking, community service, leadership, teamwork, learning about science, resume, and career development.This gives the students first hand experience on what the real world is like. Some of the goals of BEST is to increase the interest/modivation in science. It is important to show that any student can pursue a science career.
