MR. HUDSON'S BAY 2008
Doernbecher Fundraiser
The Mr Hudson's Bay program, featuring 12 senior boy contestants, was a HUGE success again this year, raising a grand total of $85,329.01 through a wide range of events that included a dance, a rummage sale, a dinner-auction, an assembly, car washes, donation nights at several restaurants and Crosley Bowl, and corporate and individual donations.
The grand finale to 6 months of work and rehearsals was the Pageant on Saturday, April 12th, at which David Mack was crowned Mr HB 2008. The 2 hour show included group and ensemble dance numbers, videos, talent segments, humorous skits and formal wear competitions.
David earned the title due to his total of $15,754.38 in donations, some of which came from his unique Christmas lights display that had been featured in the Columbian in December. 1st runner-up was Bryan Schwartz with $12,294.66 raised, and the 2nd runner-up with $7,007.58 was Randyn Stutesman. Other contestants were JP Dally, Bill Duong, Brad Fresch, Ryan Greenfield, Bret Henderson, Jake Hockett, Anders Manley, and Dakota Rhodes. The coordinators were senior girls Kelsey Hudson, Lauren McCammon and Bre Miller. Junior coordinators, who will now take the lead for next year's pageant, were Kelly Anderson and Courtney Beck.
