College Board School Day PSAT

June 22, 2017

Dear Parents and Guardians,

On October 11th, 2017 the Vancouver School District is providing an opportunity for all 10th grade students to take the College Board PSAT assessment during the school day.   This opportunity will also be provided to any and 11th grade student who scored in the range of qualifying for a National Merit Scholarship (189+) as a sophomore.  Other 11th grade students wanting to take the school day PSAT can request to participate and will be able to test, if there are available open seats.  The following link will take you to the 11th grade request to take the school day PSAT: 11th.

While taking the PSAT, free of charge, during the school day is an excellent opportunity for many students, we realize not all students will want to take the assessment.  If you would like to opt your son or daughter out of the PSAT on October 11th, 2017, please complete the following Google Form: HBHS PSAT Opt Out Form

For those students wanting to access free online study tools, we recommend the following site:

Finally, if your son or daughter is going to take the PSAT and needs to request testing accommodations, we need to know by June 30, 2017 in order for the school district to order appropriate materials.  All testing accommodations for College Board assessments require documentation.  Students and Parents can request accommodations directly through College Board or work through their home high school for the request.  We recommended you work through the school for your request.  Please, complete the College Board’s “Consent Form for Accommodations Request,” and get it back to us prior to June 30th, 2017, if you wish for us to apply for accommodations for your son or daughter.  Consent forms can be sent electronically to Andy Meyer at andy.meyer@vansd.org.

Sincerely,

HBHS Assessment Team
