“When it comes to preventing or containing hazardous situations, Damage Controlmen are the first one on the scene. Depending on the specialty, their responsibility may include: firefighting, emergency equipment repair, onboard damage control, fire suspension equipment inspection and maintenance, and ongoing safety and damage control training to crew members.” Damage Controlmen can work on ships and submarines, as part of an air squadron, or anywhere around the world.
